Vapor Recovery Units or VRU’s are found wherever hydrocarbons are processed and produced. For most operators, refineries, chemical plants and tank terminals it is the preferred choice for emissions control of small VOC and HAP streams.
VRU backup and replacement
A VRU is an important part of operations, as it is the system that controls emissions so to comply and operate within environmental rules and regulations.
When a VRU goes offline for maintenance or breaks down unexpectedly, operations have to stop. The cost implications are substantial.
This can be overcome by using our Mobile Combustor® or Flying Combustor®. They are set up to temporarily backup a VRU for the entire maintenance period or replace the VRU entirely. In case of an unexpected breakdown they can be mobilized immediately to take over the VRU. In both cases we guarantee continuity and emissions control.
